The Asheville Sun Soo After School Program is led by professional, highly educated teachers and instructors, most of whom are also experienced parents. Every minute your child spends in our after school program is designed to be constructive, productive and inspirational – and is the preferred choice for discerning parents in WNC.

We are happy to report that our first decade has been a huge success!  We have worked with more than 20 schools throughout the greater Asheville area – transporting students back to our facility and providing a positive, productive, engaging, fun, respectful and inspiring environment. As a result of our efforts, we have been voted the #1 After School Program in the Mountain Xpress Best of WNC voting every year since its beginning (now 11 years straight)!

During this time, we have progressively increased our capacity each year, while simultaneously continuing to raising our industry-leading quality and standards.  We are typically full, and have a waiting list by the start of the school year each year.  In order to be fair, we take enrollments on a first-come-first-serve basis, so we encourage families to enroll early to ensure your child’s engagement in our program!  

The exceptional culture of the Sun Soo After School Program is a result of an impressive combination of many factors – all having to do with excellent standards, expectations and execution.  One of the more impactful factors is the fact that the overwhelming majority of our after school program students are simultaneously enrolled in our Sun Soo Martial Arts Program (with easy access to martial arts classes during the after school program hours). This “one-two punch” allows the Sun Soo Team to reinforce our extensive curriculum and culture of life-skills through both programs, giving our Sun Soo kids an unmatched collection of resources and further accelerating their development.  This combination is especially convenient to our after school parents, whose kids are then able to experience our martial arts practice in the same afternoon, when those same parents would not have otherwise been able to get their kids to class!  To experience this – for kids new to our Sun Soo After School Program – we offer the first 2 months of parallel martial arts practice as a free complement to After School Program enrollment.  After their first 2 free trial months, they  have the option to formally enrollment in the Sun Soo Martial Arts Program, the details of which we will cover with you during the first week of the After School Program.
